Bahrana Sahib Puja (Cheti Chand)

Cheti Chand is the Sindhi New Year and the birth day (avatar day) of Jhulelal, revered as a form of Varuna, the lord of water. Sindhis remember how Jhulelal protected their ancestors in Sindh, and thank the river (Sindhu) for life and livelihood by offering the Bahrana Sahib — a lamp, akha and fruit — to water.
