Devshayani Ekadashi — Vishnu Shayan Puja & Chaturmas Sankalp

On Devshayani (also Ashadhi, Padma or Hari-shayani) Ekadashi, Vishnu is believed to go into yogic sleep on the serpent Shesha in the cosmic ocean for four months. This period, Chaturmas, is kept as a time of restraint and inner practice: no weddings or house-warmings are held, and devotees take a vow to give up something or add a discipline until he awakens on Devuthani Ekadashi.
