Narasimha, Prahlada, Holika, Ganesha, Ambika

Marks the night when Holika, who tried to burn the child-devotee Prahlada, was herself burnt while Prahlada was saved by Lord Vishnu (Narasimha). Worshipping the pyre before it is lit is a prayer for victory over fear and evil, and the new wheat/gram ears roasted in its fire are the first offering of the spring harvest.
