Karthigai Deepam — Home Lamp Puja

Recalls Shiva appearing as an endless column of fire (Annamalai/Arunachala) whose top and bottom Brahma and Vishnu could not find, humbling their pride. Lighting rows of lamps invites that light into the home and drives away inner and outer darkness; it is also linked to Murugan, raised by the six Krittika mothers.
