Lohri Bonfire Puja

Lohri marks the end of the coldest nights and thanks the fire and the Sun for the rabi (winter) harvest, especially sugarcane and sesame. Families offer the season's foods into the fire, go around it singing folk songs (often about Dulla Bhatti), and give special blessings to newborns and newly-weds.
