Magh Bihu (Bhogali Bihu) — Uruka and Meji

Assam's harvest festival of feasting after the paddy is in. On Uruka night families feast in a temporary hut (bhelaghar); at dawn the meji fire is lit and people offer pitha, laru and betel-nut into it, praying to Agni for a good year and remembering their ancestors.
