Pitru Paksha — Simple Home Tarpan and Shraddha

Pitru Paksha is the fortnight to remember and thank one's ancestors. Offering water with sesame (tarpan), food (shraddha) and charity with sincere faith (shraddha means 'that given with faith') is believed to satisfy and bless the departed, and to repay our debt to those who gave us life.
