Shukravar Vrat — Santoshi Mata

Santoshi Mata, worshipped as Ganesha's daughter and the goddess of contentment, became widely known through a vrat-katha pamphlet and the 1975 film. The vrat is simple — gud-chana bhog, katha and aarti — with one strict rule: nothing sour (khatta) may be eaten, served or even touched by the family that day, because sourness stands for discontent.
